Huanggang port handles increase in passengers

The Immigration Department said manpower was deployed to handle an expected increase in inbound passengers at Huanggang port on Monday, at the end of the long Chung Yeung Festival weekend travel rush. Officials said operations at the redeveloped port were generally smooth thus far. The Security Bureau said about 9,400 people arrived in Hong Kong via Huanggang port between 2pm and 4pm. Travellers were urged to be patient and follow the instructions of immigration staff and police. Edited by Edmond Fong
